Today's breakfast recipe is Rosti from Swiss. I'm making this for long time as snack for tea time, without knowing it's from swiss and eaten as breakfast.I'm regular viewer of Arusuvai Neram Program from Jaya TV, in one of those show, the host made this & she(i couldnt remember her name, her show is on Tuesday & now she left the show) mentioned the dish as "Rosti",it's very interesting & all the ingredients are easily available in our pantry,so immediately i tried on next day as snack for the evening tea.Later when i searched about that recipe, i knew about the history of this dish.

Potato Rosti

Preparation Time : 10 mins | Cooking Time : 15 minsServes :
Recipe Category: Breakfast | Recipe Cuisine: Swizerland
Ingredients
Potatoes - 2 nos(Large)
Onion - 2 tbsp(chopped)
Salt - to taste
Pepper Powder - to taste
Corn flour - 1 tsp(optional)
Cheese - 2 tbsp(if needed)
Butter - 1 to 2 tbsp
Procedure
Peel & grate the potatoes in grater(use big holes in grater for great texture), squeeze the potato to remove  the water and collect it in a bowl.Add the onions , salt & pepper and also add cheese if you are using it. Mix it well. In the mean time, heat the pan with butter.Take small portion of grated potatoes and form a round shape and put it the pan (If you're making one large rosti, spread the entire potatoes in the pan evenly ) & cook in medium flame. Do the same for the remaining.Cook on both side until crispy & golden brown in color. Serve it with Tomato Ketchup & Coffee.
Notes:
  • If you find very difficult to hold the shape, add 1 tsp of corn flour in the potatoes and try it,it helps to hold the shape easily
  • Use butter generously for great taste.
