When i searched for combo dishes across the world, I found one of the interesting and simple srilankan recipe "Kiri bath & Lunu miris" .
This rice is almost similar to the rice(ponga soru or ven pongal) that we prepare during pongal festival. This rice is very flavorful and delicious. The coconut milk gives creamy texture and slight sweetness to this rice and it goes well with lunu miris(Pearl onion & chili chutney).

For Kiribath
Ingredients
Raw rice - 1 cup
Water - 2 cup
Coconut Milk - 1 cup

Soak the rice in water for 15 mins. Heat the water in the heavy bottomed pan(i used my pressure cooker without lid) and add the rice once it come to boil.Cover and cook the rice ,stir in between to avoid sticking at the bottom. When it 3/4 cooked, add the coconut milk & salt and cook until it become single mass(no water should be there).Transfer the rice into another dish and smooth the top with laddle.Allow to cool, cut into diamonds and serve it with lunu miris.

For Lunu Miris
Ingredients
Pearl onions - 10 nos(peeled)
Red chili - 2 or 3
Lime Juice - 1/2 tsp
Salt -to taste
Heat the pan with few drops of oil, saute the onions & red chili for few seconds. It helps to grind it smoothly and also to avoid the strong flavor of onions.Once it cooled , put it in blender along with lime juice and salt. Grind into smooth paste.Since i use very little quantity, mine is not so smooth.
