Scone with Black Coffee | Coffee Scones | Buttermilk Scones

A scone is a single serving cake or short bread and usually they are served with coffee for breakfast in Europe. It's easy to make and it's delicious. Within 30 mins , you can  prepare this cuties , if you have all ingredients in hand.
I prepared this scones today morning and we love it with black coffee. Such a nice combo to have. If you wish you can add fruits like blue berry, straw berry in this, but i stick to the basic version and it also know as coffee scones .
Ok,let see the procedure now.

Buttermilk Scones

Preparation Time : 10 mins | Cooking Time : 20 minsMakes :
Recipe Category: Breakfast | Recipe Cuisine: Europe
For Scones
Ingredients
All Purpose flour/Maida - 1 cup
Cold Butter - 1/4 cup(cut into small pieces)
Baking powder -1/2 tsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
Butter milk - 1/4 Cup
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Procedure
Preheat your oven at 200C for 10 mins.
Take the flour, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl and mix it well, then add sugar and butter. With your finger tips , break the butter and mix it with flour until it looks like breadcrumbs.
Now add buttermilk(i didnt add all the butter milk, i left with 1 tbsp of buttermilk) little by little and make dough.Flour the surface and roll into small disc of about 1-1.5 inch thickness  and with the help of cookie cutter or any sharp lid cover, cut into small round shape. Do the same for remaining dough.Arrange it in the tray lined with butter paper and bake it for 15- 18 mins. Mine got ready in 15 mins.Tasty & flaky Scones is ready.

Black Coffee

Sugar
Procedure
Bring the water to boil, add the coffee powder and let it boil for 2-3 min and cover it with lid for 1 mins.Take the serving dish with sugar and strain the coffee into the cup , stir it and serveServe it with Scones

Notes

  • Butter should be cold, to get nice flaky texture.
  • Dont over mix the flour, it will affect the texture.
  • If you wish, you can strawberry or blueberry in this.
  • Keep on eye on the oven after 12 mins.
  • I miss to brush the top with milk, do it for even colouring on the top
